One of the best aspects of this area is that we have the longest deer season in the country. It opens on Aug 15th each year unless the 15th falls on a Sunday, then it would be on the 14th. It closes after New Years Day, but if New Years is on a Sunday we can hunt on the 2nd. The bucks are in velvet until about September 5th and are all still in their bachelor groups. This is always an exciting time to hunt, as you may see lots of bucks together. Already in this season, several hunters have sighted as many as 15 bucks in and afternoon sitting, and one saw 27, and yes this was in our trophy area where nothing under 16’ has been taken for 15 seasons unless it was a mistake. Between Oct. 10th and Nov. 10th the main rut occurs, with post ruts in Nov. and Dec. for the doe fawns not old enough to get bred during the main rut.

Years of experience give us the confidence to say that we are able to meet the needs of all experience levels of hunters. We love the challenge of getting first timers on their first deer and also trying to get the seasoned hunter on the deer he is looking for. We not only provide the best hunting in the area, but a full service camp with first rate facilities including handicapped accessible rooms. Great cooks serve our family style home cooked meals, and our large game room with pool tables, ping pong, a big screen, and a computer with internet access has been an important part of the extras we provide for our hunters. Paradise Valley is about 1 ¼ hrs from the airports (and shopping malls), at Charleston, Savannah, and Columbia.
